Favorite Meet Job: DQing my own children as a stroke and turn judge (sorry, not sorry).

I grew up swimming every summer for the Springwood Sprinters in Concord, CA, which instilled in me a love of summer league swimming. I still do an ornament exchange every year with the girls on my relay teams going back to when I was a 6 & Under. My goal is to create the same great memories, love of swimming, and lifelong friendships for the Marlins.

Swimmers: Zach (14), Riley (13), and Naomi (9)

Marlin Since: 2011

Favorite Meet Job: You can usually find me in the chaos of the Clerk of the Course.

Committee Jobs: Chair, Communications, Apparel, and CITs.

Summer swim team is my favorite season. I grew up as a summer swimmer in Stockton, Ca. from the age of 8-15. Every neighborhood had local pool (our summer league was big!). I was so happy when I found Greenmeadow for my family. We love the Greenmeadow community and we look forward to spending time with friends at the social events and swim meets.

Swimmers: Tyler (18), Brett (15)

Marlin Since: 2010

Favorite Meet Job: Parent Meet Job Volunteer Coordinator. I love working with the parents on the team each week (yes-- I will find you if you forget to sign up for a meet job!).

Committee Jobs: Parent Meet Job Coordinator, Marlin JSSL Board 2nd Vice President

I grew up swimming in our family pool and scuba diving off the coast of Southern California. While we’ve always invested in our kids’ ability to swim, GreenMeadow was my first team experience. I absolutely loved the competition, community and fun that comes with the Marlin community!

Swimmers: Phoenix (7) and Avedon (5)

Marlins Since: 2018

Favorite Meet Job: Timing and screaming madly when I see one of my kids in the water.

The love of swimming runs deep in our family. I grew up in the waters of the San Francisco Bay, Russian River, and the indoor pools of San Francisco. My husband Mike swam as a Laurelwood Dolphin for many moons in his youth. These adventures taught us both about the healing powers of going out for a swim. We love that our kids have found swimming and the Greenmeadow Community!

Swimmers: Jules (11), Sloane (9)

Marlin Since: 2014

Favorite Meet job: Counting the money after Concessions is DONE

Committee Jobs: Concession, Communications and CIT wrangler

I grew up in Tehran, Iran, swimming every summer. While I call myself a runner and not a swimmer, I’ve always loved lap swimming and have even won a swimathon challenge in a very far past life! My family is heavily all-things Greenmeadow, and we now live 9 houses from the pool. Back in 2004, we joined the pool as Associate Members, and both my daughters learned how to swim at the GM pool. My older daughter (Tjasa Kmetec, 19) has been a Marlin and a pool record-holder, lifeguard, coach, and a swim instructor. My younger one (Nessa Kmetec, 17) is a lifeguard and a 10-year veteran of the Marlins.

Swimmers: Nessa Kmetec (17)

Marlin Since: 2006

Favorite Meet Job: Runner

Committee Job: Treasurer

Both my wife Karen and I were summer swimmers growing up on the East coast. We're thrilled to give some of that experience of cheering and swimming, in sun and community, at Greenmeadow that we both loved as kids ourselves. Go, Greenmeadow Marlins!

Swimmers: Sydni (13) and Rylan (9)

Marlin Since: 2014

Favorite Meet Job: Data table

Committee Jobs: Data

I grew up in Barcelona, Spain. Never had the experience of a swim team before in my life until we joined the Marlins 8 years ago… and what a journey it has been! I love everything social (like a well raised Spaniard) so I am the social events chair for the team. My family is very involved with the pool and the Marlins. My two older boys can be spotted lifeguarding and if you are an early bird opening the pool at 6AM on the weekends! (not my genes…)

Swimmers: James (17), Aidan (16) and Nina (13)

Marlins Since: 2002

Favorite Meet Job: Fighting for the donuts with Chris and Clerk of
Course

Committee Jobs: Social and Spirit jobs coordinator

I grew up in Great Falls, VA (outside Washington DC), where I loved summer swimming and diving for Great Falls Swim & Tennis Club : The Rapids. I grew up in the pool, starting as an 8 & under swimmer, to eventually lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. I even taught a future Olympian to kick her feet and blow bubbles. I feel the same sense of community and family around the Marlins. It's funny to be on the other side now, as a parent rather than a swimmer.

Swimmer: Catherine ("cat" / "catfish" / "kit cat") (7)

Marlin Since: 2019

Favorite Meet Job: Eating donuts and crushing dreams DQing kids...
