We are pleased to introduce the Marlins Swim Team Committee for 2023. We are all volunteers who are doing our best to make the Marlins a fun and welcoming community for everyone.
If you have any questions or if you'd like to join the Committee, please contact Donna at [email protected].
When I was four, I saw the Greenmeadow swim team practicing and begged my mom to let me join. I swam for the Marlins for the next ten years, continued swimming and playing water polo at Paly, and ultimately went on to play water polo at UC Davis. As a young swimmer, I loved hanging out at the pool, competing on the swim team, and being part of the Marlin community. My goal is to instill a similar love of swimming and a sense of belonging for our swimmers and their families. GO MARLINS!
Swimmers: Brooke (8) and Maddie (5).

I grew up as a summer swimmer (in a much shorter season!) in Concord, NH, where I loved summer league swimming. I love the sense of community around the Marlins, and all of the fun and friendships that it instills.
Swimmers: Andrew (10) and Maggie (8)
Marlin Since: 2018
Favorite Meet Job: DQing my own children as a stroke and turn judge (sorry, not sorry).

I grew up swimming every summer for the Springwood Sprinters in Concord, CA, which instilled in me a love of summer league swimming. I still do an ornament exchange every year with the girls on my relay teams going back to when I was a 6 & Under. My goal is to create the same great memories, love of swimming, and lifelong friendships for the Marlins.
Swimmers: Zach (17), Riley (16), and Naomi (12)
Marlin Since: 2011
Favorite Meet Job: You can usually find me in the chaos of the Clerk of the Course.
Committee Jobs: Chair, Communications, Apparel, and CITs.
Summer swim team is my favorite season. I grew up as a summer swimmer in Stockton, Ca. from the age of 8-15. Every neighborhood had local pool (our summer league was big!). I was so happy when I found Greenmeadow for my family. We love the Greenmeadow community and we look forward to spending time with friends at the social events and swim meets.
Swimmers: Brett (17)
Marlin Since: 2010
Favorite Meet Job: Parent Meet Job Volunteer Coordinator. I love working with the parents on the team each week (yes-- I will find you if you forget to sign up for a meet job!).
Committee Jobs: Parent Meet Job Coordinator, Marlin JSSL Board 2nd Vice President

I grew up swimming in our family pool and scuba diving off the coast of Southern California. While we’ve always invested in our kids’ ability to swim, GreenMeadow was my first team experience. I absolutely loved the competition, community and fun that comes with the Marlin community!
Swimmers: Phoenix (10) and Avedon (8)
Marlins Since: 2018
Favorite Meet Job: Timing and screaming madly when I see one of my kids in the water.

I grew up in Barcelona, Spain. Never had the experience of a swim team before in my life until we joined the Marlins 8 years ago… and what a journey it has been! I love everything social (like a well raised Spaniard) so I am the social events chair for the team. My family is very involved with the pool and the Marlins. My two older boys can be spotted lifeguarding and if you are an early bird opening the pool at 6AM on the weekends! (not my genes…)
Swimmers: Nina (16)
Marlins Since: 2012
Favorite Meet Job: Fighting for the donuts with Chris and Clerk of
Course
Committee Jobs: Social and Spirit jobs coordinator

I grew up in Great Falls, VA (outside Washington DC), where I loved summer swimming and diving for Great Falls Swim & Tennis Club : The Rapids. I grew up in the pool, starting as an 8 & under swimmer, to eventually lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. I even taught a future Olympian to kick her feet and blow bubbles. I feel the same sense of community and family around the Marlins. It's funny to be on the other side now, as a parent rather than a swimmer.
Swimmer: Catherine ("cat" / "catfish" / "kit cat") (9)
Marlin Since: 2019
Favorite Meet Job: Eating donuts and crushing dreams DQing kids...
I grew up trying to stay cool in Sacramento summers! While I never swam on any swim team, I love what the Greenmeadow Marlins community means to our family. We spend most of our summers at the pool and love seeing the family we’ve made along the way!
Swimmers: Kelly (11) and Jr. Marlin Keiko (7)
Marlin Since: 2018
Favorite Meet Job: Concessions of course!
Committee Jobs: New Member Liaison
