While attending more practices can mean faster swims, we don't want our swimmers to burn out, especially not our beginning swimmers. For our 8 and under swimmers, attending about 3 times per week is encouraged. For the other age groups, 3-5 times per week is appropriate. We want swimming to stay fun, so if your swimmer needs the occasional day off, no worries.
Contact coaches via email or before/after practice (not during practice). Coaches need to stay focused on the swimmers when they are on the pool deck, so please do not try to talk with them during practice.
Swim Practice Groups are generally grouped by age and ability. The coaches can help you decide which group is appropriate for your child, but you can take your best guess at the start of the season.
Group 1 — 8 & Under Without Experience
Group 2 — 8 & Under With Experience
Group 3 — 9-10 year olds
Group 4 — 11-12 year olds
Group 5 — 13 & Over
On the Friday before the Practice Meet and every Friday thereafter, the team will have Race Details. This is a special, shorter practice that focuses on starts, turns, finishes and relays.
Friday Breakfast for Morning Swimmers
Once we start having Race Details, Groups 4 & 5 Morning Swimmers will be treated to a special breakfast provided by the parents.
