Meet Results, Cup Hills Open, and Upcoming Events

Marlins,

Thank you so much to all our swimmers, coaches, and volunteers for a successful and fun Practice Meet! Our first dual meet on June 1st, which is at Greenmeadow against Cupertino Hills, is now open. Lots of information below about all the other fun happening that weekend including another Parent Orientation and Friday Night Dinner on Friday the 31st, Team Photos, Team Shirt Distribution, and Family Game Night on Saturday, June 1st and our first free CIT dive clinic for our 10 and under swimmers on June 2nd.

PRACTICE MEET: RESULTS AND PHOTOS

I hope everyone had a great time at the practice meet, particularly our new Marlins. The results are attached and nearly half of the swims were personal best times - congrats!

You may have noticed the drone at the meet, which was courtesy of Alireza Sojoudi. You can see all his fantastic photos (here) and videos (here). While we may not have the drone at dual meets, it’s pretty cool to see many races from above (S&T judges don’t look too closely!) Many thanks Alireza! Big thanks also go to Terri Yamamoto and all the helpers for putting on the Ice Cream Social, which is always a fun way to kick off the summer.

CUPERTINO HILLS 6/1 @ 9-12 MEET: OPEN (swimmers here and jobs here)

Our first dual meet will be on June 1st against Cupertino Hills at Greenmeadow and the sign ups are now open (swimmers here and jobs here). Sign ups will close on Weds. May 29th at 7PM. We are giving a couple extra hours for those who found 5PM too tough, but please don’t wait until the last day! It’s harder to accommodate late additions for dual meets since the other team’s data person may need to approve and you could miss out. More details how to sign up for meets here and please do not forget to hit save on your entries.

TEAM SHIRTS & PERSONALIZED CAP DISTRIBUTION 6/1

The free team t-shirts and personalized caps for those who purchased them will be distributed during our meet on June 1st between 9-12. The shirts are for all swimmers, including those who signed up for the No Meet option. Please write your names on the shirts when you get them and please wear them for our whole team photo…

TEAM PHOTOS: JUNE 1ST DURING/AFTER MEET (sign up and pay here)

We have hired Icon Sports to do professional individual, small group, and a whole team photos on June 1st during and after our meet (approx. 9:15 - 12:30). The photographer will set up in the park for individual/sibling/group photos during the meet and a whole team photo after the meet and you can sign up and pay here. Cost is only $30 for high res digital versions of all photos including the team photo. "No Meet" Marlins or any one not swimming in the meet for any reason can still get their photos take in this time frame and you are encouraged to come in to pick up your team shirt and join us for the whole team photo.

UPCOMING SOCIAL EVENTS

MONDAY MAY 27: The Marlins take a break from social events and meets over Memorial Day, but Greenmeadow is have a Memorial Day Potluck on Monday, May 27th from 5:30 - 7:30. All Greenmeadow members are invited to bring food to share for 8-10 people with an ingredients label & serving spoon, plates, utensils, cups, blankets, & chairs. FRIDAY MAY 31: On Friday the 31st we will have De la Calle SF food truck for our Friday Night Dinner Event from 5-8. Skip cooking on Fridays and come and enjoy the pool with other Marlin families. Remember FNDs are open to the entire GM community, so bring your neighbors too! We will also be having a new parent orientation in the Clubhouse from 6-7. This will go over the same information as the last presentation (materials attached), so no need to come to both unless you have additional questions.

SAT JUNE 1: Saturday evening we will have our Family Game Night from 7-9. Thank you Willa and Natalia for organizing this fun event! We will have different board games for everyone to play and you are also welcome to bring your favorite one to share. This is always a fun night both for kids and parents. Please eat dinner before joining us since we will not be providing a meal for this event.

SUN JUNE 2: Our CITs will be hosting a free dive clinic for our swimmers who are 10 and under. There will be 30 minute time slots between 10-12 with a max of 12 swimmers in each slot.  Swimmers and CITs please sign up here. Swimmers may sign up for one slot per session and CITs, please feel free to help at as many as you can. While we hope our younger swimmers get more comfortable diving, the main goal is for our oldest and youngest swimmers to get to know each other better in smaller groups.

Please reach out with any questions and good luck to our swimmers and parents with for last weeks of school. Summer is almost here!
