March Madness Relays Tomorrow!
Marlins,
We are looking forward to our “March” Madness Time Trials and Relay Meet tomorrow! All swimmers arrive by 8:45AM and meet starts at 9AM (see below for time line).
Please take a moment to review the attached job sign ups, athlete sheets, and relay teams. The relays will not show up on the athlete sheets since we had to do them by hand, but everyone who indicate they were free for relays is in a relay team.
RELAYS
After the individual events, we will be doing 3 silly relays (teams attached by name and by relay teams). The relay teams are mixed ages and genders (even coaches are joining the fun!). The relays will be all 25s (1 lap) for each swimmer of the following: (1) “Traveling” pulling on the lane lines, (2) pushing a basketball across the pool, and (3) jersey exchange (swim in a jersey and trade with next swimmer). It will be the same teams for all 3 relays in the same heats and lanes. Parents, we will be relying on all of you to help get your kids to the right places. Our CITs and coaches are swimming at the same time as the littles, we will really need your help.
If your swimmer has changed their minds about being on a relay or your availability has changed, please let us know ASAP so we can rework the teams. It will be a lot of fun, but also a lot of chaos and even harder if kids are no shows, so please keep us posted.
CONCESSIONS
We will have some tasty breakfast concessions on offer so please bring some money to support the team.
VOLUNTEERS
The volunteer sheet is attached and we will be running with a lean team, so please check what you signed up to do and let me know ASAP if your availability has changed. You will need to check in with our new volunteer coordinator for the season, LeAnn Baum- thank you LeAnn!! If you have a late minute cancel, please text me at 650-218-4582.
TIMELINE
8:30: All Meet/Concession set up volunteers arrive. Please check in at the volunteer check in table with LeAnn. The table will be near the women’s restrooms.
8:45: All swimmers and first half volunteers should arrive. Swimmers may do an optional warm up. Swimmers do not need to check in, only volunteers.
8:50: Timer meeting for all timers (both halves). We will only have one timer per lane, so we are relying on you to focus on your lane. You will also need to write down the times on your timer sheets since we will not be using the Dolphin system.
9:00: Meet starts with 8U fly events and will go in order of fly, back, breast, free, relays. The individual events will likely move very quickly.
Approx 10:00: All second half volunteers should have arrived and checked in. Second half worker shifts start at event #11.
11:00 - 12:00: Meet Ends. This meet will probably run fast, so we may end early, but it’s hard to predict the timing. Please take a moment to clean up any trash in your area before you leave. Tear down workers can start as soon as the meet finishes.
