Marlins,

Don’t forget to sign up for the Marlins 2024 Summer (you should have an email from me with the details, but please let me know if you have questions)! Summer practices started on April 8th and the deadline to sign up to get a free t-shirt and option to buy personalized caps is April 22nd.

“MARCH” MADNESS SILLY RELAYS AND TIME TRIALS (April 27 @ 9AM - 12PM, sign up swimmers here, volunteers here)

Please join us for our “March” Madness Silly Relays and Time Trials!  This is a great opportunity for younger swimmers to get an easy introduction to racing since it will be a small group of swimmers, no DQs, and low pressure. They can swim whatever events they want or just get a donut and cheer on their friends. If you have a Jr. Marlin, we can have an older swimmer join them in a lane to help them along. For the experienced swimmers, it's a nice way to kick off the summer season and dust off those cheering skills.

If you will be a 2024 Summer Marlin, please sign up for the summer first so that you can have access to sign up for the time trials. If you have a Winter Marlin who will not be joining us for the summer, please email me to get access to sign up.

Time Trials are run like meets, however there are no disqualifications for stroke errors and the kids swim with mixed gender/ages based on ability. Swimmers have the opportunity to swim 1-4 individual strokes of their choosing or just the relays. It’s a very low key way to introduce kids to racing.

The really fun part will be silly basketball themed relays such as traveling (pulling on the lane line), pushing a basketball across the pool, and a jersey exchange. The relays will be mixed gender and age so it will be a good way for the whole team to bond. Swimmers are encouraged to sign up for all 3 relays.

Please sign up here by April 24th @5PM for events and here for volunteer jobs. If you only have Jr. Marlins you are exempt from volunteering, but if you have any swimmers who are not Jr. Marlins, please volunteer. If you have not signed up for a meet before, you can find instructions here and please don’t forget to hit save on your entries.
