Brookside, Champs, End of Season Fun

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and it was great seeing many of you at Greenmeadow yesterday! We are in the final stretch of the summer season, which is going to be action packed! Brookside Meet sign ups due TOMORROW at 5 PM (here), Champs Meet sign ups due Sun 7/9@10AM (here) (NO LATE ADDS ALLOWED). More details below on those as well as sign ups and events for the rest of the season.
PRACTICE FOCUS
We only have two more weeks left of the summer swim team! This weekend’s meet will be our final dual meet of the season, followed by Champs the following weekend. Our main focus for this week and the next will be refining our competitive swimming skills, including diving and turns, to ensure strong performances in our last two meets of the season. We are eagerly looking forward to these remaining two weeks!
BROOKSIDE: Meet 7/8 Entries Due TOMORROW @5 PM here
We only have only more dual meet left before moving on to champs, which will be at Brookside on July 8th. It is now open for swimmers here and jobs here. We hope to get a big turn out to help us stay undefeated this season! The last time the Marlins had an undefeated dual meet season was 2015, so this would be a big accomplishment.
CHAMPS DEADLINE: SUNDAY JULY 9TH @ 10 AM
Champs closes on Sunday July 9TH @ 10:00 AM so please sign up now here for events and here for jobs (preferred jobs will go quickly - don’t delay!). This is a hard stop since they need to combine data from all teams. THERE WILL BE NO LATE ENTRIES ALLOWED.
CHAMPS ELIGIBILITY: NEED 2 DUAL MEETS TO ENTER
You must swim in at least two dual meets to swim at Champs (the Practice Meet does NOT count). Jr. Marlins who have participated in two dual meet are as welcome to Champ too. Please ask if you have any questions about your swimmer's Champs eligibility.
If Brookside is your second dual meet, you will not be eligible to enter Champs until that meet is finalized. We have created a spreadsheet for all swimmers whom we think are in this group and if you add your swimmer's events here, the data team will sign them up once the meet is finalized.
FREE CIT DIVE CLINIC FOR 10U SWIMMERS (sign up here)
If you have a 10 and under swimmer who wants some dive practice, our CITs will be putting on free dive clinics for Marlins and Jr. Marlins on July 9th from 10AM - 12 PM in 30 min blocks. You will need to sign up to participate and please limit sign ups to one per swimmer per day. 10 and under swimmers, please sign up here. CITS please sign up on the main spreadsheet here using the tabs at the bottom. The CITs will be teaching the dive progressions in these videos:
PEP RALLY: JULY 15 @ 3 - 5 PM in the Park
All swimmers whether going to Champs or not, whether they did meets or not, are welcome to join our Pep Rally to get everyone Fired Up for Champs. There will be stations to help Marlins show their spirit by painting their nails green, doing a Marlin themed craft, temp green hair dye, and temp tattoos. Our Swim-A-Rama top money earners will also have the chance to throw pies in the coaches faces. There will be light snacks, but not a meal. Please join in the fun.
GOODIE BAG DELIVERY July 15 @ 5 - 7 PM: CITS (Everyone 13 and older welcome!)
If you are new to the Marlins, we have a fun tradition where the kids who are 13 and older deliver goodie bags to the 12 and under Champs swimmers. If you have a 12 and under swimmer, listen for a knock at your door usually around 5:30 - 7:00 and see if you can catch the CITS sprinting away from their sneaky delivery! If you are 13 and older, please come help us back the goodie bags on July 13th from 7-9 PM in the Clubhouse (pizza provided). Then immediately following the pep rally, dress up crazy in green and help us bring the goodie bags to the swimmers. Bring your bikes, cars, scooters, and more to do the deliveries.
END OF SEASON AWARDS NIGHT JULY 16 @ 6:30 - 8:30 (Please RSVP here)
We invite all our Marlins and their families, including those who didn’t swim in any meets or Champs, including all our junior marlins who did meets or not, to our End of Season Awards Night. All swimmers 10 and under will receive a participation medal and we will have some special awards in each age group. Pizza and cake will be served for everyone. Following the awards the pool is open for free swim, so bring you suits too! Please RSVP for food planning purposes here.
