Saratoga Woods, Eichler Results, Upcoming Events & CIT Super Cleaners!

Marlins,

Hope all our Marlins Fathers had a great day yesterday! We appreciate all our dads, but want to give a special shout out to Chris Thurman, Brian Lynch, and Aaron Andrikopoulos who are key members our our Swim Team Committee. We appreciate all their time and talents to help each of our kids have a fun-filled summer. The Marlins would also would not be the same without Mike Nagayama at the grill and staying up far too late on Fridays preparing delicious concessions. We can’t forget Barry Tao, Oliver Lee, Aashish Singhvi, Vivek Kokkengada, and Grant Buddas for taking on lead roles for our meets and events. Finally, special thanks to Abner Germanow for being our faithful starter/announcer and bringing a tear to our eyes with his heartfelt read of Oscar’s Senior Bio. Thank you!!

EICHLER RESULTS & PHOTOS (Eichler@Greenmeadow_06172023_Results.pdf)

Congratulations on a great win against Eichler (results in link and attached). Greenmeadow remains undefeated for the season so far! We had nearly 60% best times, which is amazing and extra congrats go to Phoenix Lynch who smashed the IM Record set in 2007 by over 3 seconds - great swimming Phoenix! We were lucky to have Jessie Chen there to take her fabulous photos, which are coming soon!

SARATOGA WOODS OPEN UNTIL WEDS@5 (swimmers here and volunteers here)

Our next meet on Saturday is against Saratoga Woods, which is is the only other undefeated team in the league, so this is going to be a close meet with lots of great competition. Please sign up by Weds at 5 PM, it will be great to have a big turn out for this one! This is an away meet and Saratoga Woods is about 25 minute drive from Greenmeadow and you will need to arrive at 8 AM.

SWIM-A-RAMA JUNE 21 (donate here)

Our Swim-A-Rama is this Wednesday during normal afternoon swim practice times. There is no morning practice on Weds so please come in the afternoon. This is our main fundraiser for the swim team and we are hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover new equipment and our social events. Please support the team by contributing to our fundraiser (here) and by joining us for the BBQ during the event (please RSVP here for the BBQ).

Participating swimmers will be swimming as many laps as they can during their practice slot and all swimmers with at least one donation will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes such as free swim lessons, towels, frisbees, super soaker water guns and much more! The swimmers who raise the most money will have the chance to throw whipped cream pies in the coaches faces during our pep rally.

Our Dive-in-Move is going to be on Saturday, June 24th from 7-9:30. The movie will be Bad Guys. This is a really fun event where the kids can relax on floaties in the pool and enjoy a movie that will be on the side of the pool. There will be snacks for kids to eat on the grass, but not in the pool. There will not be dinner, so please eat first.

CIT JUNETEENTH SERVICE DAY

Big thank you to all our CITs who joined us today for a Juneteenth service day. They cleaned out and organized the Clubhouse storage and washed the Clubhouse windows. We really appreciate the CITs giving back to our community! Please see the before, during, and after photos below.  Great job CITs!

PRACTICE FOCUS

Welcome to Week 11 of our summer swim team practice! As we continue to progress through the season, our main goal remains the same: to improve our competitive swimming abilities and focus on areas that need refinement. Throughout this week, we will be dedicating extra attention to stroke technique and kicking. Our upcoming meet against Saratoga Woods will be challenging, so it’s crucial that we perform well. Make sure to sign up for the meet!
