Eichler Open/CH Results & Week Ahead

    Marlins,

Welcome to the Week 10 of the summer swim team! Congratulations on another exceptional swim meet! You all did a fantastic job, swimming fast, cheering for your teammates, and representing the Marlins with pride. Please take a moment to review the meet results (Greenmeadow@Cupertino_06102023_Results.pdf).  Congratulations also go to our swimmers of the month for June: Swimmers of the Month (June).

We are excited for another great week of swim practice and eagerly anticipate our upcoming third dual meet against Eichler. This will be our last home meet of the season, and the only opportunity to race the IM for our 9+ swimmers, so hopefully everyone can make it!

Big thanks to Heather Schoell for taking the lead on our 12U movie night and hosting around 50 swimmers.  Also thanks to our CITs for coming out and playing some volleyball in the park, we had a great turn out.

EICHLER IS OPEN UNTIL WEDS @ 5PM (here for swimmers and here for jobs). Eichler is Sat 6/17 and the meet will close on Weds (6/14) at 5 PM. Please sign up on time. Eichler is the one dual meet of the season where the kids have the chance to swim the IM for all swimmers who are 9 and up. This is a bonus event, meaning it doesn’t count towards the team scores and it can be in addition to the three individual events. The IMs are swum after the relays. You are welcome to go back and add the IM to your swimmer’s events before Weds if you’d like to add that on.

PRACTICE FOCUS: As we progress further into our season, our primary objective remains the same: to enhance our competitive swimming skills and target areas that require improvement. In this particular week, we will be placing increased emphasis on diving and turns to further improve our fast swimming!

DIVE IN MOVIE: The Dive In Movie was scheduled for 6/17, but we will need to reschedule due to a conflict. New date hopefully coming soon!

SWIM-A-RAMA: WEDS 6/21 during regular practice (Donate here). Our Swim-A-Rama is coming up on Weds June 21st. Swimmers will come to their regular evening practice and swim as many laps as they can. We will have lap counters on hand to help them keep track. There are fun raffle prizes available for all who donate. Donations are flat rate for doing the event, not per lap. The highest money winners will throw whipped cream pies in the coaches faces during our pep rally. This is to raise money for new equipment and our social events. Please support our team!

5 and 10 YEAR PLAQUES: Swimmers who have been on the team for either 5 or 10 years receive plaques at our year end award ceremony. The lists below are who we have down to receive these awards, but please let us know if your swimmers are missing:

CHAMPS PROGRAM ADS/SPONSORSHIP: Due June 30

This is an opportunity for families to create an "ad" in the Champs program to celebrate their swimmer, or thank the coaches, or show team spirit, or... the possibilities are endless! You design the ad, and you can be as simple or creative as you want to be. AND/OR, you can opt to sponsor an event. You choose the event, and your sponsorship is listed on a page in the program. Families can sponsor an event, and so can businesses!

How much does it cost? Ads cost only $15, $20, or $30 for 1/4 page, 1/2 page, full page, respectively. Sponsorships cost $10 per event. Payment is Venmo payment to @Jenny-Dixon-3 (add “Champs Ad” and your name and email in notes). All proceeds go to help the league offset the cost of the Championship meet (which is considerable). And, athletes love to see their names in the program.

The ad form is attached, which you will need to complete and send to [email protected]. All forms, artwork, and checks are due Friday, June 30th.
