LW Meet Info & Cup Hills Meet Open
Marlins
We are looking forward to our Laurelwood home meet and team photos tomorrow! All are welcome for the photos even if you don't swim in meets. If you need to cancel your meet job for any reason, please contact Christine Hodson @ [email protected] or on 650-799-8093 so she can find back up volunteers.
Our next meet on 6/10 is an away meet at Cupertino Hills and it is now open, so please sign up (here for swimmers and here for jobs). It will close on Weds (6/7) @ 5 PM. Please sign up on time! While we can sometimes accommodate late add requests, we would really appreciate if everyone can make the deadline. If you really need to be a late add, please include your swimmer’s age and what strokes they want to swim in your request (up to 3 strokes for dual meets).
KEY THINGS FOR TOMORROW
- Each team has a designated zone in the pool area. Greenmeadow sets up at the diving block end of the pool. The grass near the parking lot and tables on the pavement near the kiddie pool area are for Laurelwood. Both teams are big, so be prepared to set up close to other Marlins and share your space/shade tents.
- The parking lots are reserved for the visiting team, so please park in the neighborhood, but do not block any driveways.
- We will have changing tents and porta potties available since the changing rooms construction is ongoing. The bathrooms in the clubhouse will be available.
- Team photo and individual photos immediately following meet (sign up here).
- Please remember to wear your team shirt for the team photo. If you don’t have your shirt yet, please get it at the distribution table near the clubhouse.
- Marlins may only warm up during our designated time (see below).
- The kiddie pool and diving well are closed during the meets, please help us by keeping your kids out of those areas.
- Please remind your swimmers to be good sports - everyone should stay in the pool until all swimmers finish and should say “good swim” or something friendly to their competitors.
Below is a timeline and general overview. I’ve attached the athlete sheet, a primer on how to read the athlete sheet for event/heat/lane with a diagram of what to write on their arm, the current job sign ups, and a timer responsibility sheet for all timers to review.

Please be prepared for a wait for the individual/sibling/buddy photos, it takes about 1 min per swimmer and we currently have about 100 swimmers signed up. All welcome for team photos even if you don't swim in meets.
SWIMMERS: The athlete sheets are attached, which show swimmers’ events, heats, lanes. Swimmers do not need to check in before the meet, but do line up at the “Clerk of the Course,” which are benches next to the shed, about 3 events before their events. Relay can change, so please check with coaches before leaving.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS: A big thanks to our volunteers! The volunteer sign ups are attached and please check in with Christine Hodson at a table near the clubhouse (Laurelwood's volunteer check in will be where Christine was for the Practice Meet). Please let her know ASAP if you need to cancel your meet job @ [email protected] or on 650- 799-8093.
