Small Group Stroke Clinics
Marlins!
Thank you to everyone who completed our end of the summer survey. Your swim team committee and coaches appreciate the feedback and promise to do what we can to make the Marlins an even better experience for both swimmers and parents.
The most suggested improvement was for more stroke instruction. The reality is that practices are too big to provide much individual feedback, so we always recommend that particularly younger swimmers supplement practices with lessons.
STROKE CLINICS WITH COACH RYAN
However, we listened to your feedback and we are also pleased to announce that Coach Ryan will start offering small group stroke clinics for our Marlins and Jr. Marlins (these are not open to the broader GMCA community).
The clinics will be 30 mins., limited to 4 swimmers, and cost $20 (pay in the Team Store on the website after you sign up). Each month will have a particular stroke focus. We are hoping to offer clinics on two Saturdays per month between 9-11 AM. You must sign up and pay to participate and sign ups will be limited to one clinic per month for each swimmer.
HOW TO SIGN UP
STEP 1: The sign ups will be via SignUpGenius and will close for any changes 2 days before the clinics. Links for Sept. and Oct. are below and future sign ups will be sent out when the dates are finalized. Before you sign up, please review the dates, times, and age groups carefully for each clinic. Each time slot will have an age range and please only sign up your swimmers in the appropriate age group. To accommodate as many swimmers as possible, please only sign up for one clinic per month per swimmer. If you sign up for more, your second sign up will be deleted and you may use the payment as a credit for a subsequent clinic.
STEP 2: Pay for the clinics on our team store after you have secured a spot, please do not pay before since the clinics may be full. There will be no refunds or make ups if you cancel within 2 days or for no shows. If you cancel more than 2 days prior, you may use the payment towards another clinic, but we will not issue refunds.
STEP 3: Please mark your calendars and be sure to show up on time since we will need to keep a tight schedule to get everyone in.

- 9:00 - 9:30: Ages 8 and under
- 9:30 - 10:00: Ages 9-12
- 10:00 - 10:30: Ages 8 and under
- 10:30 - 11:00: Ages 9 and older
CITS
CITs are welcome to come and help with any of the clinics. This would be a great way to get volunteer hours for school and also learn how to teach swimming, which could be helpful as a CIT and if you want to join the ranks of swim instructors in the future.
Please remember, one clinic per month per swimmer, carefully review the dates, times and age groups, since we will not be issuing refunds.
