The Scary Distance Meet on Oct. 30th is now open until Weds. Oct. 27th @ 5:00 PM!  Please sign up here for the meet (don't forget the final Save on the entries) and here to volunteer.  Cost is $10 per swimmer and you pay for it here.  If you are not doing Fall Conditioning, you may still sign up, but shoot me an email so that I can give you permission and then I'll let you know when you can enter.  More info below..

When? The meet will be on Oct. 30th from 9:00 AM to approx 12:00 PM for all swimmers. (end time depends on entries).  Optional warm-ups will start at 8:00 AM.  There will not be regular Sat swim practice on this day, this is instead of practice. 

What? The Scary Distance Meet is an old Greenmeadow tradition, which many older swimmers remember as a frightfully favorite event. The kids have options to swim longer than normal distances with some extra challenging events for those who want even more of a fright. It is low key and purely for fun - no DQs, no ribbons, but lots of candy and raffle prizes.

Who? The meet is open to all 2021 Summer Marlins, Jr. Marlins, and all 2021 Fall Conditioning swimmers, but no adults for this one, just the kiddos. If your swimmer is currently doing Fall Conditioning, you can enter now. If you are not doing Fall Conditioning, please send me the names of the swimmers who want to attend and I will let you know when you may enter.

Cost? The cost is $10 per swimmer, which includes a spooky swim cap, goodie bag, and a raffle ticket per event entered. You pay for the meet in the Team Store on our SwimTopia Website (here)

How to Enter? The Meet is now open (here) for Fall conditioning swimmers and the deadline to enter is Wed. Oct. 27th @ 5 PM.  Links for meet and volunteer sign ups are also on the upper right corner of the website. Please do not forget to hit save on your entries! If your swimmers are not doing Fall Conditioning, please send me an email with the swimmers' names and I will give them permission to sign up. If you are new to the team, more detailed information on how to enter a meet is below and please email with any questions.

Events? We will offer the following events and your swimmers may enter one of each stroke plus the IM. Remember, there are no DQs, so be brave and go big!

• 8 & Under: 25 or 50 of fly, back, breast, free, and 100 IM
• 9-12: 50 or 100 fly, back, breast, free, and 100 or 200 IM
• 13+: 50 or 100 fly, 100 or 200 of back, breast, free, and 100 or 200 IM

Volunteers? If you have a swimmer, you are expected to sign up to volunteer for at least one shift here. Note that the end times for the second shift is just an estimate, so the meet may run longer or shorter depending on how many kids sign up. If you have any questions about the volunteer positions, please let me know.

Costumes? Yes! We encourage costumes for kids and adults alike.

SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS

There are detailed instructions regarding how to sign up for jobs and meets here. You can find the meet sign ups here or on the right side of our website. Once in the event, you can scroll down to see the edit button under your children(s) name (s) :

After hitting "Edit," you need to go to the drop down menu for each swimmer and select “Attending this meet. ” Then you’ll see all of the available events for the swimmer’s age. You need to check the box next to each event to enter. Please double check that you mark the correct events. Please don't forget to hit the “Save” button at the bottom to finalize the entries.
