Practice Sat, No Practice Monday

Marlins,

Hope to see you all at the 4th of July Festivities this weekend.  There is practice this Saturday, but there is no practice for any groups on Monday, so take the day to relax after a fun 4th.

EICHER DEADLINE ALMOST HERE

Don't forget the deadline for our last meet against Eichler is this Weds by 5:00 PM!  Sign up here now since it will be here extra fast with the holiday weekend.  A reminder that the meet format will change to one session, so everyone will start at 8:00 AM and the meet will end around noon.

MEET AND CIT PHOTOS

Our amazing photographer Ming did it again with some great photos from the last meet. Here are the albums from each session.

A repeat of the Eichler meet and related activities is below.

PEP RALLY JULY 9TH FROM 4-6 PM

The party will start the day before, July 9th, with our pep rally from 4-6 PM. The coaches will give an inspiring pep talk, we will do our swim-a-rama raffle drawings, throw pies in the coaches faces, get our Marlins’ spirit going with green galore, and create good luck cheer signs for Eichler that our CITs will sneak over to surprise our much-missed Gator friends.

LAST MEET GOODIE BAGS JULY 9TH 6:30 - 8:30 PM- SHHHH IT’S A SECRET

Another Marlin tradition is back with our CITs (anyone 13 and older) delivering goodie bags to all our 12 and under swimmers. The CITs will drive, bike, and walk all over town showing their Marlin spirit and bring the younger swimmers their bags. This is meant to be a fun surprise for the younger swimmers, so parents please keep it on the down low, but keep an ear out for a doorbell dash. If you have a 12 and under swimmer, but will be out of town, or prefer not to have the bags delivered, please let me know and we can keep them at the pool for your swimmers to collect.

EICHLER MEET JULY 10TH 8 - 12:00 PM NOW OPEN

We are excited to announce that we will be doing the Eichler meet with the full team together instead of older kids and younger kids in different sessions and Eicher is following the same format at their pool, so the meet is still virtual in that regard. This means all Marlins young and old show are at the pool ready to swim by 8:00 AM and stay until the meet ends. All our swimmers will be able to cheer each other on and feel part of the full Marlins family. Please sign your swimmers up here.

The events will go in the same order, but we will start with 6Us boys in the fly and go all the way through to the 15-18 girls fly before starting on 6U boys backstroke. For our old timers, this will be just like our old meets (except Eichler will be at their pool) and for our newer members, you will get a taste of a “real” meet, which are more fun, louder, and have more time for kids and parents to socialize and rest between events. Volunteer jobs will be nearly the same, but split into the first half and second half of the meet instead of a whole session. Since your swimmers will be there for the whole meet, you have flexibility in terms of which half you work. Please sign up here for one job if you have one swimmer and two jobs if you have more than one.

We will open the gate to the park, so everyone can spread out and use the park and pool grounds for extra space. Since we will all be together, masks will be required for everyone at the meet, whether you are vaccinated or not.

AWARDS NIGHT JULY 10TH 5-8 PM

Take a nap after the meet and get ready to come back for our awards party in the park from 5 - 8 PM. We will provide pizza and cake for the whole family. Bring your chairs and blankets to gather in the park and cheer on all our swimmers as the coaches recognize them with awards. We do provide an award to every swimmer, so get those cameras ready.

PRACTICE AND FUN WILL GO ON!

Although we won’t be having more meets after Eichler, we will continue our summer practice schedule until July 30th with social events sprinkled throughout. We know many families like to travel after the last meet, so we wanted to get our celebrations in before people hit the road. After July 30th, we will take a practice break and then our Fall conditioning will start up. We are still finalizing those details, but will send around more information and registration will open in late July/early August. We don’t have dual meets outside our main summer season, but we do have a special Halloween meet and Social events throughout the rest of the year.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
