Practice Meet & June 12 Meet/Photos
Marlins,
It’s almost here! The Practice Meet is tomorrow morning (timeline below). The athlete sheet with swimmers’ events/heats/lanes is attached. The relays are very tentative, so will change around the day of the meet (more relay info attached). Swimmers do not need to check in. I’ve attached information on how to read the heat sheets and how to write them on your swimmers' arms.
All volunteers DO need to check in with Christine Hodson ([email protected]) who will be at a table behind the starter area. The current volunteer job sheet is attached and Christine will be in touch if things need to change around. Please email her directly if you have any questions. Timers, please review the attached overview of timer responsibilities.
The team shirts and personalized caps are here and will be available for pick up at the meet. Please remember to write your name on your shirt as soon as you pick it up. We will not be allowing size swaps until everyone has picked up their shirts, so if you need a different size, keep the shirt clean and be patient. We will be selling blank caps for $15 and parents you can get yourself a team shirt in black for $20.
JUNE 12 MEET & TEAM PHOTOS
Our meet next Sat, June 12th (virtual meet v. Cupertino Hills) is open and will follow the same structure and timeline as the Practice Meet. The sign ups for jobs and meet entries are on our website and here. Deadline is Weds. June 9th by 5:00 PM. Swimmers may sign up for 3 individual events PLUS the IM. The IM is a bonus event this season and will not count against the individual entry limits, so feel free to add that on for fun at every meet.
We will also be having our team photos during the June 12th meet. The photographer will take photos of all swimmers for a composite team photo. If you would like individual or sibling photos, you will need to pre-order those for $15 on this website. Your $15 pays for all the different poses and shots they take of your swimmer, plus the full team composite photo, as high-resolution digital files. You can also order prints or use the file to print your own elsewhere. Unfortunately, you will not be able to submit your own photos for the composite team photo if you can't make the meet.

NO CONCESSIONS
Usually the concession stand is a big highlight of the meets (thanks Nagayamas!), but sadly, we are not having concessions this season. Please remember to get your coffee before you arrive and bring your own snacks and drinks.
MASKS REQUIRED
Masks are required for everyone inside the pool area, regardless of vaccination status, for all swimmers, volunteers, and spectators. Kids will need to wear their mask to the start of their events. You may want to bring something like a ziplock back for them to put it in so it doesn’t get wet.
WHAT TO BRING
- Mask
- Marlins team swimsuit if you have one (not required this year)
- Googles (and an extra pair if you have them)
- Marlins swim cap
- Our caps should arrive on Friday so we will be passing out the pre-ordered personalized caps at the meet and blank caps will be available for $15.
- Towels (On warm days, 1-2 towels per swimmer is sufficient. When it is cold or overcast, you may want to bring extra towels.) Mark your towels with your name.
- Sweatshirt, sweatpants
- Sunscreen
- Food and drinks since concessions will not be available
- Sharpie pen (to write swimmer’s event/heat/lane assignments on arm)
- Blankets or chairs for sitting on grass
- Shade tents/umbrellas, hats, sunglasses
- A good attitude and some team spirit!
RIBBONS
Swimmers will receive paper “ribbons” for the practice meet for places 1-6. These will be filed in a box that will be located in the entry way of the pool and swimmers should be able to pick up their ribbons by the end of next week. We will have real ribbons for the other meets this summer.
Good luck to all the swimmers and thanks to all our volunteers! Please let me know if anyone has any questions.
