Jr. Marlins Welcome to Meet!

All,

Since I've had a few folks ask about this, I wanted to let all 8 and under parents know that Jr. Marlins are a subset of Marlins.  Please view all coorespondence and mention of "Marlins" as including Jr. Marlins, unless they are specifically excluded.  This means  Jr. Marlins are welcome to all meets, social events, and everything else.  Please join in when you can, we really love seeing the Jr. Marlins race and have fun!  The older kids love getting to know them too.

If you only have Jr. Marlins swimmers, you do not need to volunteer at the meet.  If you have a mix of Jr. Marlins and Marlins, you are expected to volunteer.

If your Jr. Marlin can only make one lap of freestyle or backstroke, it's fine if they just come and swim just one event.  They don't need to dive, they can start in the water and push off the side.  We just want them to have fun and get used to racing, so we will make them feel welcome and they often get the most cheers from the older kids and parents.

Please feel free to come and observe the practice meet or you can sign them up and change your mind that day. We understand, won't force them, and will be flexible.  If you just come to observe, please come in the second shift from 10:00 - 12:00 when the younger kids will be swimming.

I'm sending this to all 8 and Under parents since we don't have the final list of who is in the Jr. Marlins practice groups yet, but we should have an update on that soon. Please feel free to email any other questions and we will also go over Jr. Marlins in the meeting tomorrow, so you can ask any other questions at that time too.

Thanks,

Donna
