Just a reminder about our parent orientation tomorrow (5/27) @ 7:30 - 8:30 PM. We encourage all parents to join to hear an overview of the season and to have a chance to ask questions.

PRACTICE MEET: NOW OPEN UNTIL JUNE 2ND (meet jobs and events).

We will discuss this more tomorrow, but our Practice Meet on June 5th (11+ 8:00-10:00 AM, 10U 10:00-12:00 PM) is now open. The sign up links are above and on the upper right corner of our website and instructions are below. We realize this is awkward timing since it’s before practices even start, but it was the only available date given our dual meet schedule. We don’t want to cause any stress to our new parents or swimmers, so this is optional for participation and you are welcome to just come to observe.

The deadline to sign up is Weds. June 2nd @5:00 pm. We will have two sessions with our 11+ swimmers from 8:00 - 10:00 am and our 10U swimmers will be from 10:00 - 12:00 PM. The older swimmers will be allowed to sign up here for warm ups between 7:00 - 8:00 AM. The event order will be fly, back, breast, free, IM (one lap of each stroke). The distance choices are below (25= 1 lap, 50 = 2 laps, 100 = 4 laps):

For the practice meet, swimmers may sign up for all events offered in their age group. We encourage swimmers to try everything, but it is not required since we know for some of our newer swimmers, one event may be enough. For dual meets, they will pick 3 individual strokes plus the IM.

VOLUNTEERS

If you have swimmers in the meet, you are expected to volunteer, which is usually more fun than it sounds and is a great way to meet parents and swimmers. The Practice Meet is just as much for the parents to learn a  job or two as it is for the swimmers. If you only have Jr. Marlins, you are exempt, but if you have a mix of Jr. Marlins and Marlins, you are expected to volunteer. You can find descriptions of the jobs here and you can email Christine Hodson ([email protected]) with any questions. Please double check that you are signing up for the same session that your kids are in.

11+ WARM UPS

The older kids may sign up for warm ups starting at 7 am here. There are four 15 min warm up sessions and we will allow up to 4 swimmers per lane.

SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS & JUNE 2ND DEADLINE

Please sign up (here) by Weds., June 2nd at 5:00 pm and don’t forget to hit save at the bottom when you sign up. It does take a few days to finalize the heats/lanes, so we appreciate your attention to the deadline.

There are detailed instructions regarding how to sign up for jobs and meets here. For these time trials, you can find the meet sign ups here or on the right side of our website. Once in the event, you can scroll down to see the edit button under your children(s) name (s) :

After hitting "Edit," you need to go to the drop down menu for each swimmer and select “Attending this meet. ” Then you’ll see all of the available events for the swimmer’s age. You need to check the box next to each event to enter. Please double check that you mark the correct events. Please don't forget to hit the “Save” button at the bottom to finalize the entries.
