Coach Update 5/23/21

Hello, Spring Conditioning Swimmers and Families!

Thanks for a great week of practices!!!

Week in Review:

There were a few really tough sets for all the groups this past week! We started with a high-yardage backstroke IM day, then moved into some breaststroke work, then finished on day 3 with a low-yardage, high intensity sprint underwater set followed by relays and games!

Parent Reminders:

Lane assignments for the summer season will be out soon! Thank you for your continued patience!!

Swimmer of the Week:

Name: Ellie Silverstein

Age: 8

Favorite Stroke: breast

Favorite thing about swimming: “kicking!”

Favorite vacation: “My grandma’s house in Connecticut!”

Favorite food: Chinese food, sticky rice, chinese tofu

“Ellie always comes to practice with a big smile on her face! She is a hard worker, and a quick learner. Within a few weeks she was able to swim a whole lap of all four strokes! She truly enjoys being in the pool with her friends; her sunny, positive attitude is responsible for the whole group’s enjoyment of practice time! Ellie is also always ready to help out, retrieving her teammates’ goggles from the bottom of the pool when they sink, cheering her teammates on as they swim to the wall, and just generally being friendly, kind, enthusiastic… She is a true Marlin! Great job, Ellie! You’ve deserved this for a long time. Coach Malia and I are so proud of you!” -Coach Tjasa
