Marlins Fall Updates

Marlins,

We have a few updates below related to the 2020 JSSL Quarantine Cup, a CIT Dive Clinic on 10/18, and a reminder about the Spooky Time Trials on 10/24.

QUARANTINE CUP - WE WON!!!

Big congratulations to all our Marlins and Coaches for being the 2020 JSSL Quarantine Cup Champs!! The results can be found here and on our website in the Results section.  We came in first place with 404 points - woo hoo. Laurelwood was 2nd (385), Brookside 3rd (281), and Eichler 4th (226) (Saratoga Woods and Cupertino Hills did not participate). For those of you who missed the information about this earlier, the Quarantine Cup was akin to a virtual Champs meet among all the teams in our JSSL league. We submitted the fastest times from each swimmer based on our three summer time trials. The Cup organizers also put together a virtual relay meet with many relays that we don’t normally have, like an all butterfly relay. It’s fun to see those results and congrats to Laurelwood for winning the virtual relay meet. Well done Marlins!!

FREE CIT DIVE CLINIC FOR 8 Us ON OCT. 18TH @ 9:00 - 12:00 (Sign up here)

We are offering another free dive clinic for our 8 and under swimmers on Sunday, Oct. 18th from 9:00 - 12:00. These will be 20 minute sessions taught by our CITs, who are our 13+ Marlins. For those with younger swimmers, please don’t expect your swimmers to perfect their dives in 20 minutes, but hopefully they will have some fun, enjoy connecting with the older swimmers, and gain some confidence with diving. CITs, please keep an eye out for an email with more information.

The sign ups for 8 Under swimmers and CITs are here. Please be sure to sign up in the right spots for each group, there are spots for 2 8Us and 4 CITS per time slot. Family members are welcome to share a time slot.

In case you can’t make the dive clinic or if you have swimmers aged 9+ who also want to work on their dives, please see the dive progressions below, which is what the CITs will be teaching.

SPOOKY TIME TRIALS - OCT 24TH. (Sign Up Here, Pay Here, Volunteer Here)

Please don’t forget to sign up for the Spooky Time Trials! The registration link is on right side of our home webpage or just go here. Then open Meet Entry for your swimmers and sign them up for their swim events. Please sign up for a volunteer position by clicking Job Signup (We will need a few folks to help out during the event itself-- with timing, clerk-of-course, raffle management, and more!).  The fee for registration is $10 per swimmer; a link to payment can be found on the Meet and Event Sign Ups page. The registration fee goes toward providing each swimmer with a goodie bag containing a Spooky Time Trials swim cap, pre-packaged candy, a mini-pumpkin, and raffle tickets!

If you are not registered for Greenmeadow’s 2020 Fall Conditioning season and/or do not see your swimmer’s name listed in the Meet Entry list please contact Coach Tjasa at [email protected].

Happy Swimming!
